A material difference

On September 1, HEXPOL’s long-time CEO and President Georg Brunstam suddenly passed away. His passing is first and foremost a tragedy for his immediate family, but is also a great loss for HEXPOL as an organization and for the many who were touched by his commitment and leadership, both on a professional and personal level.

Georg took over as CEO and President of the HEXPOL Group in 2008 after having held leading positions in companies such as Nolato and the Trelleborg. During the years 2017 to 2020, he assumed the role of chairman of the board for HEXPOL and then again led the company as CEO and President. Throughout the years, Georg has created a strong organization within HEXPOL with many highly skilled and qualified managers.

During George’s time with the company, HEXPOL’s turnover has grown from just below SEK 3 billion to SEK 22 billion. Today, HEXPOL is a large and well-managed Group, a world leader in polymer compounds with a globally established manufacturing footprint.

Georg was a highly valued leader and colleague who impressed with his commitment, visionary approach and impressive business acumen. His strength lay in an unforced and straightforward leadership style that made everyone feel seen – from the factory floor to the boardroom. Georg was encouraging and generous with praise and always tried to highlight internal abilities in recruitment.

Georg loved his work and he loved “his” HEXPOL. Colleagues around the world will remember him with great warmth. His leadership principles and values will continue to characterize the organization for a long time.
